What kind of restaurant is Farallon?
A classic seafood restaurant serving coastal cuisine, with an oyster and raw bar, in San Francisco's Union Square. Farallon has been open since 1997.
What are your hours?
We are closed on Sundays and Mondays for special events. Bar and raw bar open at 4:30pm nightly; happy hour runs daily 4:30 to 6pm; Pool Room dining is Tuesday thru Thursday 5:30 to 9pm and Friday & Saturday 5:30 to 9:30pm; the Me'duse menu is available nightly from 5:30pm.
How do I book a table?
Make a reservation online, or call us at (415) 956-6969. Reservations are taken daily between 11am and 9pm.
Is there a dress code?
Smart-casual upward. Most guests in the Pool Room dress for the occasion; the Jellyfish Lounge is more relaxed.
Where do I park?
Limited valet parking is available. Union Square's public garages on Post, Sutter, Geary and Mason are all a short walk, and Powell Street BART is about five minutes on foot.
What is the Pool Room?
Our historic main dining room, named for the Elks Lodge swimming pool it was built over. The hand-painted ceramic ceiling, dedicated in 1925, still arches above it. More about the Pool Room.
What is the Jellyfish Lounge?
The downstairs bar and raw bar room, with custom jellyfish chandeliers, octopus stools, glowing kelp columns and the caviar staircase covered with 50,000 indigo-blue marbles. More about the lounge.
When is happy hour?
Daily 4:30 to 6pm in the Jellyfish Lounge, at $6 per selection. See the happy hour menu.
How many guests can you host privately?
From 10 to 250. Sevruga seats 16, Osetra 32, Beluga 96; the Jellyfish Loft holds 50 standing; the Wine Hold seats 12; full buy-outs run to 250. Private dining.
Can the kitchen cater to dietary restrictions?
Yes. Because the menu is written daily, the kitchen has genuine flexibility with vegetarian, gluten-free and allergy requests. Mention it when you book.
Do you have a wine list I can see in advance?
How do I buy a gift card?
Online, by phone on (415) 956-6969, or in person at the restaurant Tuesday through Saturday 10AM–4:30PM in the administrative offices on the 4th Floor of the Kensington Park Hotel. Merchandise.
Which holidays are you closed?
New Year's Day, Memorial Day, The Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Holidays.
Do you offer theatre deals?
Yes — 15% off the dinner check for same-day A.C.T. ticket holders, and a $49 three-course prix fixe for San Francisco Playhouse ticket holders. Promotions.
