Farallon/Private Dining at Farallon
Weddings · Corporate · Celebrations
Three private rooms, two semi-private spaces and a restaurant that can be taken over entirely.
The floor above the restaurant
Recognizing the demand for large parties, Mark Franz and Pat Kuleto have created 3 private dining rooms above the restaurant in the historic Elks' building that houses the restaurant, Kensington Park Hotel, and the Post Street Theater. The design of the private dining rooms is a continuation of the underwater theme in the restaurant and creates a unique company party space.
Sevruga, Osetra and Beluga run smallest to largest, exactly as the caviar grades do. It is a useful shorthand: when you tell the events team the number of guests, they will tell you the fish.
The Elks' building gives events an advantage that is hard to arrange elsewhere in Union Square. Out-of-town guests can sleep at the Kensington Park Hotel next door, dine upstairs at Farallon, and walk to a curtain at the Post Street Theater without crossing a street.
The Menus
The private dining rooms are serviced from their own kitchen under the direct supervision of Executive Chef Jason Ryczek, and Chef/Owner Chef Franz. The private dining menus change seasonally and we are always happy to design a special menu for your event.
Most events start from a seasonal package and then move: a shellfish reception before guests sit, a fish and a meat option for the main so nobody is stranded, a vegetarian sequence held in reserve, and cheese or dessert depending on how late the room runs. Wine pairings are set by the sommelier against whatever you land on.
Farallon's Private Dining Spaces
Three rooms above the restaurant, each with its own character and capacity.

Up to 16 guests
The Sevruga Room, the smallest of the three, seats up to 16 guests in a cozy atmosphere. This room is complete with a hand-blown glass aquarium, candlelit fireplace and a wine library.

Up to 32 guests
With its 10-foot French windows overlooking Union Square, the Osetra Room seats up to 32 guests. Beautiful porthole paintings are the perfect accent to this room.

Up to 96 guests
The largest of the 3 private dining rooms, the Beluga room seats up to 96 guests. French doors lead you to a grand ballroom of a luxury ocean liner inhabited with all manner of sea life.
Semi-Private Dining Spaces

Up to 30–50 people
The new Jellyfish loft is the perfect space for standing receptions and happy hours for up to 30 people.
Hosting your party at the Jellyfish bar includes building your own shellfish bar, customized cocktails and wine pairings crafted by our sommelier, and specialized passed bites — for up to 50 guests.

Maximum 12 guests
The beautiful Wine Hold table seats a maximum of 12 guests and is surrounded by 4 glass walls. The table is located in the Pool Room of the restaurant. Your guests choose from our daily changing a la carte menu options.

Yes. The private dining rooms are serviced from their own kitchen under the direct supervision of the Executive Chef and Chef/Owner Mark Franz — so a party upstairs never slows the dining room, and vice versa.
The private dining menus change seasonally and we are always happy to design a special menu for your event, including wine pairings from the cellar.

Above the restaurant, in the historic Elks' building that houses Farallon, the Kensington Park Hotel and the Post Street Theater — which makes the building unusually convenient for events that run into a show or an overnight stay.
Ask the events team when you enquire. Cooking demonstrations and corporate presentations are both regular formats here, so the rooms are set up for them.
