Happy Hour In Union Square San Francisco, Jellyfish Lounge
The best-value hour and a half in Union Square
Happy hour at Farallon is not a token gesture. It is a proper menu — half a dozen oysters, house-made charcuterie, truffled Kennebec fries, wagyu pastrami sliders — priced at $6 per selection, served in one of the more theatrical rooms in San Francisco.
It runs 4:30 to 6pm in the Jellyfish Lounge, alongside the bar and raw bar which open at 4:30pm. From 5:30pm the Me'duse Lounge menu takes over, so a good plan is to arrive at five, work through the happy hour list, and slide into dinner without moving seats.

Frequently asked questions
Happy hour, answered
What days is happy hour?
Happy hour runs 4:30 to 6pm. The printed card lists Tuesday through Saturday; the restaurant is closed Sundays and Mondays for special events.
Where is it served?
In the Jellyfish Lounge, the downstairs bar room with the jellyfish chandeliers, octopus stools and kelp columns. It is not served in the Pool Room.
Do I need a reservation for happy hour?
No — happy hour is first-come, first-served at the bar and lounge seating. Arrive close to 4:30pm for a seat at the raw bar.
Can I stay for dinner afterwards?
Yes. The Me'duse menu begins at 5:30pm in the same room, and our full dining-room menu is served at the bar.
Are oysters really part of happy hour?
Half a dozen oysters with champagne mignonette is on the list at the same $6 per selection as everything else.
